BRIGHTONA 2016 Once again, must be about the fifth year now, SkullDrummery provided the escort for the Mayor of Brighton to open the Brightona Charity Bikers event on Marine Parade on Sunday 9th October 2016. A beautiful Indian Summer's day - not a cloud in the sky - we accompanied the throb of bike engines at the entrance gate for about fifty minutes by way of a warm up and drew an appreciative crowd. The mayoral party of bikes and trikes arrived at about 12:15 and we threaded our way through the massive crowd to escort him to announce the official start of the event on the main sound stage. Two snares, two Basses and THIRTEEN toms still wasn't quite enough to drown out the PA on the stages but seemed appreciated all that saw/heard us. A final guerrilla drum on the seafront for thirty minutes allowed us to leave by 14:30 and NOT outstay our welcome.
